Initiative for veneer and nature, registered association (IFN)- Marina Röhr appointed to the board.

The association Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN) e.V. was founded in 1996 by the German veneer industry and its partners.
The aim of the association, headquartered in Bad Honnef, is to promote the material veneer.At the general meeting, the members of the IFN elected a new board.

Marina Röhr was newly appointed to the board. "I want to contribute with a creativity and passion to get the noble wood - today and in the future - the deserved attention."

In recent years, IFN has presented itself very successfully at trade fairs and other events.
Based on the very gratifying response, it was decided at the general meeting that the IFN should continue to show a strong trade fair presence in the future.

This also convinced the high-caliber expert jury of the ICONIC AWARDS 2019.

"This unique synthesis, from the rather austere shape of a conventional noble wood material to a fine and elegantly curved line, is suitable for design accents in the classic interior design as well as in modern interior architecture" explains Marina Röhr.

VARIOPLEX is available in more than 140 noble woods in stock. Whether trendy in oak or walnut, elegant in cherry or rustic with branches, it can be made individually for every style of furnishing.
Likewise, variants in combination with different types of wood or colors are possible.

europlac HIRNHOLZ (end-grain-wood) meets DESIGN

Our noble wood specialists in europlac- MANUFACTUR have been inspired by this fascinating kind of noble wood. Thus, completely new and exciting design variants of a rather classic product have emerged. Elegant checker-board patterns arise combined e.g. with other colored precious woods. Or extra selected oak end-grain-wood with cracks, branches and a black substrate becomes a particularly rustic eye-catcher. Even a 3-dimensional look is possible.
To this, normal veneer in different thicknesses is joined to end-grain-wood. Once again, noble wood shows how wonderfully changeable it is…

Small wood science:
End-grain-wood is a noble wood in which the surfaces are cut transversely to the fiber,
so the annual rings on the end grain surface can be seen as complete circles or segments. Since all fibers are cut through at the same time at an angle of 90°, all chamfers are loaded equally. This makes it extremely stable
and is therefore very often used e.g. as parquet in highly exposed areas or kitchen work surfaces.
