Einsatz

Veneer, sawn timber, solid wood furniture. Before it gained recognition as a fashionable wood, alder was considered an inferior timber, unsuitable for use in the furniture industry.

Eigenschaften

Its color is reddish-white to brownish-red. Alder darkens considerably over time. It is a decorative wood, but often has flaws. Black flecks (known as 'hairs') are a distinctive feature.

Often, alder is only oiled or waxed.
